What You Need To Know
Need To Know
Need To Know
What You need to do after You are saved . . .First of all, we want to congratulate you on your decision to accept Christ as your Savior. This is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. Your sins are now forgiven and you will go to Heaven. There is joy in Heaven because you are now saved. In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. Luke 15:10________________You Are Saved ForeverSaved means you are saved from Hell and the penalty of sin. When you die, you will go to Heaven because you are saved. Jesus died to saved you from Hell. When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, and made Him you Lord, you were given everlasting life._______________“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9._______________You Are Now In the Family of GodYou are not saved because of anything that you did. You are not saved because you go to church. You are saved because you received (accepted) Christ.“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” John 1:12Before, you were in Adam’s family. Now you are in God’s family. Before, you were in the human family. Now you are in the heavenly family. Now, you are in eternal family.Once you become a son/daughter of God you will always be in His family. After you are saved you may doubt and you will sin, but you are still saved. God does not put you out of His family because you do wrong. God, as your Father, will correct you, His child. Once you are born you cannot be unborn. Your earthly father will always be your earthly father. Your Heavenly Father will always be your Heavenly Father.
Need To Know . .

Your GivingThe Lord’s work needs your support and help. You need to give your time, talent (gifts and abilities), and treasure (financially) to help in the Lord’s work. As you give you will learn that the Lord gives to you. Giving of our time, talent and treasure is an act of worship to the Lord.Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38.A good Christian should volunteer in your church and look for ways to be used of God. At least the tithe (one tenth) of your income should be GIVEN freely to the Lord’s work. It is a blessing to give as the Lord gives to us. The tithe is given to your home church where you are fed, additional offerings and gifts can be given elsewhere as the Lord leads you.But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33.Your FriendsAfter you are saved you need to live a NEW life. This means you should live a separate (from the world) and clean life. You must allow the Holy Spirit to transform you and help you step away from those things that are not pleasing to God.The Bible is very clear and tells the Christian to COME OUT and be separate.“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God−this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is−his good, pleasing and perfect will” Romans 12:1-2.“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? II Corinthians 6:14.Pray for your old friends, witness to them, but do not join them in their worldly ways. Start your new life with new friends who are good Christians. This is very important because many new Christians fall because of worldly friends. The Bible again is clear.

If You SinAs a new born baby in God’s family you do not know all things. When you are saved you do not know the entire Bible. You do not understand the ways of your Heavenly Father. As a baby must learn to walk and talk – you must now start to grow into the ways of your new family. If you sin, you do not need to be saved again – you need to be sorry for your sin and confess (tell) God. God will forgive you and you can again have fellowship with God.“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9If you stay in your sin then God will chasten (punish) you.". . . the Lord disciplines those he loves, and punished everyone he accepts as a son." Hebrews 12:6.You will feel bad in your heart until you ask Him to forgive you. This bad feeling is called conviction – this is not condemnation. When you do wrong and feel conviction, this shows you are saved and you just need to be forgiven. When you confess your sins this means you are willing to stop your sins. Learn to quickly change your ways and do right as the Lord leads you. Sin always will make you unhappy. It will destroy your testimony, your fellowship with Christians, your fellowship with God and it will also ruin and destroy your Christian life. Learn quickly to say “YES” to the things of God and “no” to the flesh (self), world, and the Devil. STOP your worldly habits and start your new life for God.“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” II Corinthians 5:17._________________You Need To Be BaptizedAfter you are saved the first thing you need to do is be baptized by emersion and join the right church. Baptism does NOT save you, but it shows others you are saved and now want to follow the ways of Christ. If you were baptized BEFORE you were saved you need to be baptized again AFTER you are saved. Baptism shows others that you believe in the DEATH (lower into water), BURIAL (laid in the water), RESURRECTION (you are raised out of the water) of Christ. Then, as you walk from the water you are showing others you now want to walk in the way of a new life.

You need to join a Bible teaching and Bible preaching church. Do not join a church that teaches another gospel or idea. It is easy to be fooled – so PRAY, be careful, and ask the Lord to lead you to the right church.________________Your ChurchDecide to be a good, faithful Christian. Attend your church at all services, especially new member’s classes (if you have joined Abundant Harvest Christian Center), Sunday morning service & Wednesday evening Bible study. Also look for opportunities to spend time with your new church family in fellowship such as men’s and women’s ministry, and other church events. You will learn much from the teaching and preaching. Remember, as a new born baby, you need to grow in the Lord. You need the church and the church needs you to grow and prosper so that your gifts can be put to work for the Kingdom. Love your pastor, teacher, and workers. Always have a good attitude and be a good church member.________________Bible and PrayerStart reading your Bible and praying every day. As you read your Bible, God talks to you. As you pray, you talk to God. The Bible will give you strength and cleanse you for God’s work.“You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.” John 15:3.The Bible is not an ordinary book. You do not have to read it from front to back. There are 66 books contained with this one, all to help you prosper in your Christian walk. The Gospel of John would be a good book to read first. It would also be good to study the Bible with other literature, such as bible commentaries, a concordance or other reference books to help you understand God’s Word. Please see your pastor or a ministry leader with any questions on your Bible.Prayer is a must for the Christian life. Pray when you are tempted to do wrong. Pray for your needs. Prayer is also thanksgiving and praise. Start a prayer list. Write down your prayer needs on paper or in your Bible. Then as the Lord answers prayer draw a line through your answered prayer. Remember“. . . You do not have, because you do not ask God.” James 4:2.

“"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”" I John 2:15.“Being ‘in’ the world also means we can enjoy the things of the world, such as the beautiful creation God has given us, but we are not to immerse ourselves in what the world values, nor are we to chase after worldly pleasures.” (Taken from www.gotquestions.org) See John 17:14-16Used of GodNow that you are saved it is important to grow in the Lord, be clean, become a good Christian and be used of God.Your old friends, your family, and others around you need to be saved. If you live a changed life before them, you can be a witness and used of God to win them. Tell others what the Lord has done for you.You may also have abilities (talents-gifts) that can be used for the Lord. It may be that you could become a bus worker, teacher, missionary, or preaches. The Lord wants to use every person in his work.“But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” Ephesians 4:7.Do you want to be used of God? Be clean, grow in the Lord, and God will use you.Don’t StopMany new Christians live for the Lord a few weeks, months, or years-then quit. This hurts the work of God. Here will be times of discouragement and disappointment, but do not give up. Other Christians may stop, but you need to decide to keep going. The Lord has a plan for your life and his ways are always the best ways. A person who quits is NEVER happy. Decide now you will be used of God and do not stop, quit, or give up.Source www.olcministries.org. Complied by OLC Ministries.Adapted for use by Abundant Harvest Christian Center with permission

Some rather unorthodox tips for people who are looking for a church.1.) Think of your visit to a church as if it was a visit to someone’s home. Be gracious. Rather than concentrating on things you don'’t like, make an effort to notice and affirm things the church does well.2.) Seek to worship more than you seek to evaluate. Enjoy discovering new ways of experiencing and serving God.3.) Be thankful for friendly churches, but do not be overly impressed with superficial greetings. The real test of community is investing in each other’s lives.4.) Pray for the church you visited each Sunday at lunch.5.) Do not put too much importance on the sermon. A good preacher is nice, but ministers come and go. The people of the congregation are the ones who sustain each other over the long haul.6.) Look for a church that will provide you with opportunities to serve others.7.) Try some small, out-of-the-way congregations. You might have to ask around to find them. Pay particular attention to churches that are new or are meeting in interesting locations.8.) Count your season of wandering as a time of spiritual growth and discernment. Do not be in a hurry, but do not waste Sundays either. Be about the task of finding your church home. Finally: You will not find your perfect church. Your perfect church does not exist. You should have a few things in your mind that are most important to you. Look for those things and don'’t worry about the rest. Part of the joy of being in a community is learning to live with the faults and frailties of others, just as they learn to live with you and your idiosyncrasies.

All Church Outreach
All Church Outreach
The Abundant Harvest Outreach Ministry goes out to the hedges and the highways on a scheduled Saturday morning at 7:00am to win souls for Christ. Outreach is non-confrontational, and involves placing fliers on residential doors. Ther outreach is an ALL-Church Outreach of men, women and youth of the church.Your attendance at these outreach meetings is necessary help us reach the maximum number of souls each week. The all-church outreach will be announced during church services, and is also listed on the church calendar. You should arrive at the church parking lot no later than 6:50am in the morning. You will be given brief instructions for how outreach is conducted, have prayer, and depart for the community that the fliers will be given to. You will be placing our Abundant Harvest Reach One Flyer on residents' doors, so there is no verbal confrontation. If you happen to see someone outside, simply greet them and let them know that you are passing out fliers for the Abundant Harvest Christian Center. Do not attempt to answer any doctrinal questions or engage in any lengthy conversations with residents. If you encounter someone who has questions of this nature, refer them to the Church Office at (540) 247-8602, or our address information on the flyer. While passing out fliers in the community, we do ask that you remain mindful of the following:* Please place the flyer on the door so that the words "Abundant Harvest Reach One" are facing the street.* Please ensure that you walk in pairs for safety.* Please be minful of your volume as you talk; we are usually the only ones in the neighborhood that are up and out that early!* Please do not place fliers on cars or mailboxes; if you are unsure of what to do, ask someone - we are helpers of one another!* Please do not place fliers on doors that have a "No Soliciting" or "No Trespassing" sign displayed.* If you are invited into someone's home, we ask that you do not accept; let them know that you have other homes to pass fliers to, and continue on. If the person is a friend or acquaintance, we ask that you still decline the invitation; feel free to call them after outreach.Outreach takes about one and a half hours from start to finish . . . that's a small investment that brings great rewards! As you pass out fliers, you are sowing life to all of the recipients, and you will reap life because of it!
Baby Dedication
Baby Dedication
Dedicating a child acknowledges God’s sovereignty not only the child, but also Mom and Dad. Parents present their child before God and His people asking for grace and wisdom in carring out their responsibilities. Parents also come praying that their child might one day trust Jesus Christ as Savior for the forgiveness of sin. AHCC strives to be excellent in every manner and at every level. Our baby dedication services are important to the life and spirit of your child/children. You are giving back to God what He has freely given to you, in essence you are saying, “Lord I can not do this on my own I need your help and guidance in the upbringing of this child.”The process for baby dedication is as follows:1.) Parental counseling with the pastor.2.) God-parent check list.3.) Setting dedication service date.4.) In keeping with The Thanksgiving Spirit of Charity, members of AHCC goes door to door Sunday handing out free Thanksgiving Turkeys to communities.“"I think it’s great. It’s a way to give back to the community and to just help people that may be in need. It seems like these days that everybody is in need. It doesn'’t matter what your income level might be, everybody could us a little help every now and again.Rev. Donald Wilson came up with the idea for the Gobble Walk several years ago. The idea behind the community service project is to reach out to those who might be in need during the Thanksgiving Holiday but at the same time allow them to have a meal of their own making. ”One of the things that we were doing was we were doing turkey dinners, giving boxes of food away, but we noticed that a lot of people really wanted to do their own thing, so we thought why not provide them with a turkey and then they can fix the meal themselves.

We are excited about what God is doing in our lives and we want to share with you in a tangible way. We want to pay it forward with acts of kindness, in hope that the person being blessed may share there testimony. The scripture says: All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. Acts 4:32 NIVWe have created these tickets that you can pick up at the communication station. When you take one or a couple tickets and keep them in your purse or wallet, and you feel like being a blessing to someone. Here’'s a example (you'’re in the drive thru at McDonald’s and when you get to the window to pay for your food, find out how much the next car’s order cost and pay for it. Then hand the card to the worker and have them give it to the person and tell the worker not to tell who paid for there order.) The card will explain to the person what just happen. We also include a email address that they can log on and share there story if they desire. If you want to be a blessing take a few cards. Discover the blessing of being a blessing.
